Long Beach Water hosts virtual budget workshop May 26

LONG BEACH, CALIF. (MAY 25, 2022) — Residents and businesses can get involved and provide input at a virtual budget workshop hosted by the Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners on May 26.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Zoom. To participate:
The meeting is the second in a series of four public workshops at which the Board will discuss the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 budget, which covers the 12 months from October 2022 through September 2023.
The two remaining meetings are on June 9 and June 23.
Budget workshops will include in-depth discussions about proposed improvements to the water and sewer systems, including pipeline replacements and water quality enhancements.
The Board is also set to discuss strategies to increase local water supply, cost reduction efforts and any potential impacts on future water and sewer rates.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the meeting and share input virtually. Comments can also be sent via email to the Board to watercommission@lbwater.org.
The Board is expected to adopt the final budget and rates at the June 23 meeting.
