WATER, GAS AND SEWER SERVICES CONTINUE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION
LONG BEACH, CALIF. (JAN. 4, 2023) — Long Beach Utilities today unveiled a new logo and branding for the newly unified department providing water, gas and sewer services to residents and businesses.
Paying tribute to the long history of utility service in Long Beach, this logo incorporates elements from past logos and branding — shades of blue, a flame and a droplet shape — while moving us into the future of a consolidated department.
The design represents the spirit and unity of the three utility services while also conveying consistency, reliability and the department’s continued dedication to serving the community under the new name and organizational structure.
New name. New logo. Same exceptional service.
“Building upon the long legacy of our utilities and the dedication of our employees to the community, we’re looking forward to a unified future,” said Gloria Cordero, president of the Board of Utilities Commissioners. “While we go through an internal transition and embrace our new brand, we will continue to provide all of our customers the quality services that we have been known to provide.”
Long Beach voters affirmed the consolidation of water, gas and sewer services in the Nov. 8 election. As of Jan. 1, Long Beach Water and the gas division of the city’s Department of Energy Resources are now Long Beach Utilities.
Long Beach Utilities provides water, sewer and gas service to residents and businesses in Long Beach, and gas service to the city of Signal Hill.
The public launch of the new department logo marks the beginning of a rebranding campaign that will roll out in the coming months, including updates to service trucks, employee uniforms and informational materials.
A new website will soon launch at lbutilities.org, combining water and sewer information currently at lbwater.org with natural gas content currently at longbeach.gov/energyresources. In the interim, customers can continue to find information on the two existing websites.
For water and sewer information, customers can continue to call (562) 570-2300, or (562) 570-2390 for an emergency. For natural gas inquiries, call (562) 570-2000, or (562) 570-2140 for an emergency.
